The NL Experts in the IFLA Management

The IFLA World Library and Information Congress, the largest professional organization of libraries and librarians, is currently under way in Rotterdam. During its sessions, two experts from the National Library of the Czech Republic, Petra Vávrová and Tomáš Klimek, have been appointed to the management of the IFLA professional sections. Petra Vávrová was elected a member of the Preservation and Conservation Section, focused on permanent preservation, support of conservation processes and protection of endangered documents. Tomáš Klimek became one of the eleven members of the working group of the Rare Books and Special Collections Section, which deals with the management of and accessibility to world cultural heritage. Both of them will surely make good use of their expert knowledge and practical experience, thanks to which they were elected. For the National Library of the CR, it is the recognition of its significant international status and professional prestige.
