Rules for Use of the Chill Out Zone and Individual Study Zone

  1. The premises of the Chill Out Zone and the Individual Study Zone (hereinafter collectively referred to as “the premises”) may be used by registered users of the National Library of the Czech Republic (hereinafter referred to as “National Library”) and holders of a one-day admission ticket.

  2. It is forbidden to use the premises for commercial or other business-related activities.

  3. It is possible to study one's own documents in the premises, or off-site loans from the National Library, provided that a pass has been filled out for these documents upon entry.

  4. Documents from the National Library’s holdings may not be ordered to these premises. Documents borrowed from other reading rooms cannot be brought in here either.

  5. Users may use the electrical outlets and connect to the National Library wi-fi network.

  6. Users should keep their voice at a reasonable level to avoid disturbing others.

  7. Food and beverages are allowed on the premises, but hot food from the buffet is prohibited.

  8. A book booth located in the premises may be used to exchange books. Users may put in books that are in their possession and take away those that have been left there by other readers. Upon leaving, these books need to be presented the security staff for checking. The items must not bear the stamp or other ownership marks of the National Library.

  9. You may use the community bulletin board in the Chill Out Zone to leave a message.

  10. You should leave the area in the same condition as you found it. If you find the premises damaged, report the damage to the librarian at the Reference Centre, either in person or by phone on +420 221 663 201.

  11. The National Library does not bear responsibility for items brought in or left by users. Lockers and a cloakroom are available for users to store their belongings.

  12. The area is monitored by security cameras with a (non-audio) recording device.

  13. In the event of any security issue or a conflict, please contact the security staff.
