The General Reading Room, a summer refectory of the former Jesuit Collegium Clementinum, is situated on the ground floor. You will find it next to the entrance, through a baroque portal and anteroom, through the door on the right side. |

General Reading Room Regulations |

COLLECTION |
- a library of approx. 12 000 volumes of reference literature in major subject areas - numerous encyclopedias and language dictionaries, both general and specialized; legislative and jurisprudential literature
- volumes are categorized in Classified Arrangement of the General Reading Room
- you will find shelf marks of the Reading Room collection in OPAC (for example BMO II A 002)
- items with a note „open shelves“ – you may pick yourselves - for items with notes „ask the staff - at the desk“ please ask the librarian
- National Digital Library is made available through the system Kramerius (access on 2 work stations; access to public domain works also through Wi-Fi)
- Licensed online databases (available through Wi-Fi) including
- a selection of Czech newspapers
- a selection of Czech periodicals

- making available of printed materials from NL collections for in-house use (from the year of publication 1801),
- there is a limit of maximum 10 items (see Section 10 of the General Reading Room Regulations) - in case of newspapers or any large-size volumes, the limit amounts to a maximum of 6 volumes (in principle one year-volume of newspaper)
The hold period is 14 calendar days. If no other user is interested in the library item, this period can be extended via online catalogue , on request to the library staff, via e-mail or phone, even repeatedly
