Notice on modified operation of services from 16 February to 30 April 2016
Dear Users,
with relation to upcoming making available of a considerable number of publications for purposes of evaluation of grant outputs (commencing 1 March 2016), it has been necessary to allot a part of the Reading Room storage capacity for keeping several thousands of items above usual quantity.
In view of that, we shall have, for the time necessary – 16 February – 30 April – to adhere strictly to the Reading Room Regulations, in particular
- to keep strictly, in respect of books and journals, the combined limit of 10 volumes of those delivered from the stacks and to be kept after a use, or 5 volumes to be kept on hold after a use for the next visit;
- to limit a number of newspapers delivered to an order to issues of 1 year of 1 title (6 volumes at maximum)
At the same time, you are kindly asked to consider
- the number of items you place order for, especially for the over-size volumes or the very thick ones;
- necessity of a renewal of the hold of items without their use (ie. by phone, e-mail).
As of 1 March 2016, 30 places shall be reserved for the evaluators (in the row of tables next to the windows).
Evaluation of the publication output forms a part of efforts towards a high quality of the scientific work. We hope you will understand the measures above and we shall succeed, through a joint effort, to minimize problem which might arise in connection with the higher requirements on the storage capacity and the operation of the Reading Room.
