The work of Václav Sivko (1923-1974) is focused mainly on drawing, free graphics and illustration. He has left a remarkable, albeit often overlooked, trace in the area of book art in the 1960s as a graphic editor of the publishing houses Mladá fronta and Albatros and a collaborator of many magazines. He illustrated, decorated and graphically edited more than five hundred books. The exhibition cycle Books are Difficult to Display, dedicated to eminent Czech book artists of the period after the World War II, is organised by Elpida, o. p .s. in cooperation with the Archive of Visual Art. Martin Hůla is the curator of the exhibition.
