The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the NL

On 15 November 2022, H. E. Mr. Seyed Majid Ghafeleh Bashi, new Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Czech Republic, visited the National Library to introduce himself and get to know the institution´s activities. He donated to the National Library a pictorial publication about a colletion of historical maps, and during the meeting he offered his assistance in developing cultural cooperation with Iranian memory institutions, especially the National Library and the Archives of Iran. After the tour of the Klementinum historical premises the Ambassador looked through selected titles from our collection of Persian manuscripts. Discussions also concerned cultural heritage and its inscription in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register, as well as possible cooperation in collections´ preservation and availability.
