September 12 – November 10, 2019

Invitation - Opening ceremonyPhotogallery

For the first time, the archaeologists present results of many years of their research in the Klementinum area to the wide public. Their new findings enhance our knowledge about the earliest history of the Old Town of Prague. The exhibition features, among other, the reconstructed original appearance of the oldest Dominican Convent of St. Clement, considered completely lost in construction of the Baroque Jesuit college, as well as the medieval buildings in its surroundings, including so far unknown Romanesque constructions and the oldest burial sites. Displayed are also the most important medieval artifacts discovered in this area between 1997 and 2017. The exhibition is organised by the National Library of the CR in association with the National Heritage Institute.

Invitation - Photogallery

The exhibition 100 Years of the First Public Libraries Act commemorates an important milestone of modern Czechoslovak librarianship.
