Tirsch and the Others… Czech Jesuits in Mexico
19 October - 27 November, 2022

The exhibition on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Czech-Mexican relations features Czech Jesuit missions to Mexico in the 17th and 18th centuries; the centrepiece of the display is Codex pictoricus Mexicanus, a beautifully illustrated manuscript created by Czech Jesuit Ignacio Tirsch.

The Famine in Ukraine (1932–1933): on the ninetieth anniversary of the outbreak
October 10 - December 12, 2022

Poster - Opening ceremony

The exhibition of photographs and publications with texts in Czech and Ukrainian commemorates the most important moments of the Holodomor, man-made famine in Ukraine (and other regions of Soviet Russia) that was caused by a series of Soviet political decrees and decisions aimed mostly or only at Ukraine. From 1932 to 1933, around 3-5 million people died of starvation.

Photogenic Science
October 31 - December 31, 2022

The exhibition features the most interesting photographs selected from the contest organized for employees of the Czech Academy of Sciences every year since 2014. Photographs are presented in the National Library of the CR for the first time.
