The Music and Manuscripts and Early Printed Books Reading Room is situated on the 1st floor of the Klementinum building. For access take the back staircase, availability of the lift there as well. Room door number 152.

OPENING HOURS
Mon –Thu: 9 am – 7 pm
  • more then 5000 music manuscripts - period copies as well as autographs, mainly from the 18th, 19th and 20th century
  • about 110 000 vols. of printed music from the 18th century to the present
  • more than 400 letters of famous composers and musicians
  • so called Mozart Memorial which was established in the library in 1837 and became the first Mozarteum in the world. It contains a valuable collection of historically significant copies and first editions of Mozart's works
  • large collection of Czech and foreign language musicological literature, journals and other materials (ca 9300 v.)
  • about the Holdings of the Music Department
  • the Department provides information on all aspects of music and musicology
  • the non-circulating collection of primary musical sources, secondary literature and reference tools may be studied together with special catalogues in the reading room
  • photocopying is available upon request
  • access to specialised music and musicological databases
